The brief

A grip-sock and athletic brand needed a storefront that earned trust from athletes — the shopper here knows what grip socks are for, and the page had to answer the questions a serious buyer asks rather than over-explain the basics.

What we did

  • Built the storefront from scratch on Shopify with a custom theme that leans on action photography rather than studio shots.
  • PDP system with fit notes by sport (Pilates, training, basketball) and material breakdown surfaced on the page, not buried in a tab.
  • Sport-specific landing rails on collection pages — a buyer arriving via Pilates content lands on a Pilates-focused edit, not a generic grid.
  • Lifecycle email program in Klaviyo with welcome, abandon, and a post-purchase flow tuned to a repeat-purchase rhythm — athletes restock when their first pair starts to wear.

Key decisions

  • Trust the buyer. Grip-sock buyers come in already knowing the product category — the page doesn’t waste their time re-explaining what grip socks do.
  • Action over studio. The product looks like nothing in a still studio shot; we leaned the photography brief toward in-use imagery from the start.
