The brief

A UK clean-beauty brand needed a net-new Shopify store that could carry ingredient transparency without burying anyone in chemistry, and reviews architecture that earns credibility without shouting.

What we did

  • Built the storefront from scratch on a Shopify Basic plan, optimised for the budget the brand could allocate at Stage 02.
  • PDP architecture leads with the visual product, layers ingredient context immediately under fold, and treats reviews as a second-page-load expense rather than a hero element.
  • Mobile-first checkout with Shop Pay enabled and abandoned-cart automation through Shopify’s native flows (no extra app cost at this stage).
  • Brand system applied across home, PDP, collection, cart, and post-purchase touch points.

Key decisions

  • We deliberately resisted adding apps the brand didn’t need yet. The store is lean by design so the team can manage it without a developer.
  • Reviews are integrated via Judge.me at the entry tier — a deliberate cost choice that keeps ongoing app spend under £30/month.

Shopify Basic, Dawn-derived custom theme, Judge.me, Klaviyo (entry tier), Shopify Email.
